lyrics

I was feeling plenty, I was feeling down.
Came up behind me, told me I was found.

I felt the tear and the seam go long.
Who’s to blame when no one’s around

It’s getting worse with the stash running low
I'm stacking crumbs, a slice coming slow

We’re not in agreement, ‘cause you're not there.
We stained the bed sheets, but I don’t care.

Leave a light on and I’ll be home,
You won’t forget me I’m too much fun.
I’d leave it on, but we’re too fuckin’ broke,
To waste good money on hallmark anecdotes.

Leave a light on and I’ll be home.

What’s salvation? Where is the drop?
We face the music knowing it never stops.

It’s not a rescue, we know where we are.
It’s when the song ends without an applause.

I felt the tear in something you said.
Get out your thimble and pass me a thread now.

Leave a light on, and I’ll be home,
You won’t forget me I’m too much fun.
Who are you kidding, you fall asleep in your clothes.
With all the lights on, your hair in rows.

I’m wanting to see you, but there’s no time.
I’m wanting to see you, but there’s no time.
I wait to see you home, the bottles empty I'm alone.
I wake to leave you but there’s no time

Leave a light on and I’ll be home,
You won’t forget me I’m too much fun.
Leave it on, if just in your eyes,
The spot for me where I know I’m alive.

Leave a light on, and I’ll be home.
Leave a light on and I’ll be home.
